Monograph on Corrugated Cardboard: the History
The history of corrugated cardboard begins in the mid-19th century, when an English engineer named Albert Jones devised a method to produce a three-layer material composed of an outer sheet of paper and two inner layers of corrugated paper.
However, the patent was not commercially successful.
Only in the 1870s, another Englishman, William G. Smyth, improved the corrugated cardboard production process, obtaining a more resistant and higher quality product.

His invention was a great success, so corrugated cardboard production spread rapidly throughout the world.
Uses of Corrugated Cardboard
Today corrugated cardboard is mainly used in the packaging sector. Thanks to its layered structure, this material offers excellent resistance to impacts and vibrations, effectively protecting products during transport.
Ecological Cardboard Protections

Another sector that exploits the advantages of cardboard is construction: it can indeed be used as a building material to create partition walls or false ceilings, but not only.

The focus on sustainability is a factor that has given space to this material also in interior design, for the production of furniture and furnishing accessories in line with current environmental policies and market trends!
